2024 Business & Finance ESG Awards

The ESG Awards recognise companies that are making a significant effort to address and progress ESG issues. They provide a platform to highlight the success of ESG initiatives, share best practices, and emphasise the importance of transparency in this area.

The winners of the 2024 Business & Finance ESG Awards will be announced on 18 April 2024, at a ceremony at The Mansion House, Dublin.

The judging panel will be looking for evidence of commitment to ESG across the business and will reward those that can demonstrate best practice and innovation in their approach.

Dublin Sustainability Taskforce shortlisted for the ESG Team Award

Digital Realty's Dublin Sustainability Taskforce was shortlisted in the ESG Team Award category at the 2024 Business & Finance ESG Awards. The taskforce was established in 2021 with the primary objective of driving sustainability initiatives across the company's Dublin operations. The Taskforce is a cross-functional team comprising members from across a range of departments including operations, engineering, and procurement. The team underscores our commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation.

The Dublin Sustainability Taskforce works across all sites and departments to identify opportunities to implement sustainable solutions and work with the business to roll out and manage these projects.

Dynamic Frequency Response project shortlisted in ESG Innovation Award category.

Our Dynamic Frequency Response (DFR) initiative was a finalist in the ESG Innovation Award category. This project leverages data centre batteries to bolster the National Grid, contributing to the prevention of power disruptions. It also holds the potential to mitigate over 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

The DFR initiative is a testament to Digital Realty's dedication to sustainability and forward-thinking solutions. By capitalising on our expertise in data centre operations, we have crafted a response to a pressing energy industry challenge. This project is a dual triumph, benefiting both our company and the environment by optimising our energy consumption and contributing to a more sustainable power grid.
